My Mitzvah Project - Zoe Ashberg

For my mitzvah project, I volunteered my time with my local vet on an outreach to Blikkesdorp. On alternating Sundays, we would go to Blikkesdorp to care for stray animals as well as local household pets. Most of the animals were malnourished, mangy and otherwise not very well-looked after. I assisted with feedings, vaccinations, deworming, grooming and placing the animals into loving homes whenever possible. I’ve always had a passion for taking care of animals, and this project was especially meaningful to me as these animals were in such need of food and affection.
