Paige Marinus - Dvar Torah
Joseph was one of Jacobs 12 sons and Jacob loved Joseph more than any of the others, he loved/favoured him, so much he gave Joseph a coloured cloak, this caused Joseph’s brothers to hate him and have feelings of jealousy towards him. These feelings led them to sell him into slavery. Joseph as then taken to Egypt and eventually became steward to Potiphar (one of Pharaoh’s officials).
Joseph had dreams and he could interpret them. First his dreams got him into trouble but his ability to understand them led him to be chosen by Pharaoh and to save the world. We can learn a lesson about the mysteries of how the world works. Believers and non-believers can see it as an illustration of the need to keep on trying and persevere, to forgive people that hurt us. Believers always find comfort and strength in trusting God completely because God always has a plan for us, even if it isn’t obvious at first. This is both a spiritual and leadership lesson.
