Temple Israel

Three congregations, one family.

Temple Israel is a dynamic, welcoming community committed to inclusivity in worship, Jewish education to inspire our children and adults and a friendly, caring, safe space for all its members. We manage to combine a love of the Jewish tradition while embracing modernity, finding a vital balance between connecting to the Jewish people in generations past and around the world today. We are moved by the spirit of tikkun olam, the Jewish mission of repairing the world, and committed to improving both the Jewish and general society around us.

Busy Times Ahead

With Shabbat Magic in Wynberg on the 23rd and in Green Point on the 6th August, with Limmud thrown in between, this month is an extremely busy one for all of us here at the shul.

The rabbis, councils and staff are also extremely busy planning for the High Holy Days as well as Sukkot and Simchat Torah in September and October. In recent years we have made many significant and much-needed changes to our offering on these days and this year's schedule will enhance these even further. With children's services for three age groups in all three centres for all services, our choral services with our rabbis, tashlich and communal breaking of the fast, we have a wonderful variety of services and events during this time and we hope to see all of you there. An information pack filled with details on all of these festivals will be sent out in mid-August.
