Signal Hill Challenge 2013: Reaching Great ‘Heights’ of Success
Sunday 17th March saw the second version of this great event take place. Walking from our Green Point Shul up to the top of Signal Hill once again highlighted some spectacular views of the Green Point Stadium and Table Bay. Back at the shul our intrepid walkers were able to enjoy a massage, buy a kosher hamburger and drinks, cavort on the jumping castle or play in the petting zoo. The morning was concluded with ‘Minute to Win It’ where the prize draw took place. Many congratulations to all our prize winners who won items from restaurant and market vouchers to holidays away and the 42” colour television. We would like to thank all our wonderful sponsors, donors who gave both cash and prizes, all our members of the organizing committee and volunteers on the day and all the participants who made sure the ruach of 2012 was carried forward to this year. Pesach 5773
Our congregation are once again proud to report on the myriad of excellent services and events over Pesach. Erev Pesach was celebrated with services in all three centre, with our annual seder taking place at the Green Point shul. This year we extended our capacity from 120 people to almost 200 and were delighted to welcome almost 50 students from the Semester at Sea ship that had docked in Cape Town that very day. Thank you to all who participated to make the event so special. Our Pesach morning unity service was held in the West Coast and all who attended were treated to a service of great beauty and power led by Rabbis Greg and Lisa. We were also proud, for the first time, to host SAUJS in our Wynberg shul for their very successful second night seder. Pesach 5773 was rounded off with unity services in our Green Point and Wynberg shuls.
